PrusaSlicer Cheatsheet¶
Overview¶
PrusaSlicer is a feature-rich, open-source slicer for 3D printers. It is based on the Slic3r project and is developed by Prusa Research. It is known for its user-friendly interface, advanced features, and excellent print quality.

Getting Started¶
- Download and Install: Download and install the latest version of PrusaSlicer from the official website.
- Configuration Wizard: Run the configuration wizard to set up your printer, filament, and print profiles.
- Import Model: Import a 3D model (STL, OBJ, etc.) into PrusaSlicer.
- Slice Model: Click the "Slice now" button to slice the model.
- Export G-code: Export the sliced G-code to your 3D printer.
Slicing Modes¶
- Simple Mode: A simplified interface for beginners.
- Advanced Mode: Unlocks all of the advanced features of PrusaSlicer.
- Expert Mode: Unlocks even more advanced features for expert users.
Print Settings¶
- Layer Height: The height of each individual layer.
- Infill: The density and pattern of the internal structure of the print.
- Supports: Structures that support overhanging parts of the print.
- Print Speed: The speed at which the printer prints.
- Temperature: The temperature of the nozzle and bed.
Filament Settings¶
- Filament Type: The type of filament you are using (PLA, PETG, ABS, etc.).
- Diameter: The diameter of the filament.
- Extrusion Multiplier: A multiplier that adjusts the amount of filament extruded.
Printer Settings¶
- Bed Size: The size of the printer bed.
- Nozzle Diameter: The diameter of the printer nozzle.
- Firmware: The type of firmware your printer is running.
Advanced Features¶
- Variable Layer Height: Vary the layer height throughout the print to achieve a balance between print speed and quality.
- Paint-on Supports: Manually paint on supports where they are needed.
- Ironing: Smooth out the top layer of the print to create a glass-like finish.
- Color Change: Add a color change at a specific layer.
