Overview¶
Bluesky is a decentralized social networking protocol. It is being developed by Bluesky PBLLC, a public-benefit LLC that was established by Twitter.
Key Concepts¶
- Decentralized: Not controlled by a single company or organization.
- AT Protocol: The Authenticated Transfer Protocol, the underlying protocol that powers Bluesky.
- Personal Data Repositories: Users have control over their own data.
- Interoperability: Different social media apps can communicate with each other.
Getting Started¶
- Get an invite code: Bluesky is currently in private beta, so you need an invite code to create an account.
- Create an account: Go to the Bluesky website or download the app and create an account.
- Set up your profile: Add a profile picture, bio, and display name.
- Start posting: Start posting and interacting with other users.
